Mr. Dinh Bang Vu, beloved husband of Cuc Thi Nguyen passed away peacefully at his home on 7-17-2017 surrounded by his family. Mr. Vu was a graduate of the Republic of South Vietnam Military Academy and was a Captain and war correspondent before transferring to civilian service. He rose rapidly to a position as director of the National Television of the Republic of South Vietnam and director of the Press of the Presidential Palace. He also served as film director and the leader of the Presidential Press Office both domestically and internationally. He directed a documentary on the Tet Offensive in Hue. The film won a prestigious international award. Mr. Vu was also film director for the Directorate of Information of the Republic of South Vietnam. After relocating to the United States he became the case manager of the U.S. Catholic Church for refugee resettlement for the Wichita Diocese and the paraprofessional teacher of Vietnamese students at East High School in Wichita Kansas. He is survived by his son Thomas Vu and his wife (Huyen), his daughter Boilinh Vu (Hinh), his daughter Banglinh (Hoa), and his daughter Baolinh Duong (Chris) in addition to ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. A rosary will be offered at the Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 East 13th Street in Wichita this Thursday and Friday (7/20 and 7/21) at 6:00 pm. Viewings will also be available between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Thursday and Friday. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1214 E. 2nd St. in Wichita at 10 o'clock on 7-22-2017. The family invites you to a celebration of his life at the Lakeview Funeral Home immediately following the funeral mass.
