Eleanor Sue Clinton, aged 76, surrounded by family sadly passed away on July 20, 2017. Eleanor was born September 22, 1940, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Addison and Ella Thompson. A proud resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Eleanor graduated from Ponca City High School in 1958 and married the true and lasting love of her life, Lou Clinton in October of the same year. Soon thereafter, mutual dreams were fulfilled with husband Lou being called up to the Major Leagues in baseball, along the way making life-long friends and memories in 8 seasons with Boston, Los Angeles, and New York. Upon retirement from baseball, Eleanor and Lou spent the rest of their lives in another passionate endeavor, working in the oil business with the talented people at the Clinton Oil Company, and later forming their own equipment and exploration companies, where Eleanor continued to work as secretary/treasurer until recently. A proud Mother, equaled only by our pride in her, Eleanor is survived by sons, Kevin (Elizabeth) Clinton and granddaughters Alyssa, Margo, and Kendra of Kirkland, Washington, and Chris (Pamela) Clinton and granddaughters Madison and Jessie of Wichita. She also leaves behind many good and gracious friends that so enriched her blessed life. We respectfully ask, that in lieu of flowers, that you consider donation to deserving people who do so much good in our world, and who were important to Eleanor: Holy Cross Lutheran Church here in Wichita, Kansas, or The Opportunity Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Services will be held in Wichita, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 31st, 600 N. Greenwich Rd, with gravesite service at Lakeview Cemetery commencing at 11:00 a.m.
